I Want Free Solar System

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 08/10/2026  ·  Last updated: 08/10/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], trading as I Want Free Solar System (“I Want Free Solar”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information about you when you visit iwantfreesolar.com, submit a form on our website, respond to one of our advertisements on Facebook or Instagram, upload a copy of your utility bill, call us, message us on WhatsApp, or otherwise interact with us.

Please read this policy carefully. By using our website or submitting your information to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.

Who we are, in plain terms. I Want Free Solar System is an authorized distributor of Sunlarus Energy, LLC. We help Central Florida homeowners understand solar subscription options, review eligibility, and connect with the appropriate program representatives. Products, program terms, guarantees, installation and final approvals may be provided or governed by Sunlarus Energy, LLC. This means that if you ask us for a quote, your information will be shared with Sunlarus Energy, LLC so that your eligibility and pricing can be assessed. Section 6 explains this in full.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This policy applies to personal information we collect from:

  • visitors to iwantfreesolar.com and any landing pages we operate;
  • people who complete a lead form inside Facebook or Instagram (a “Meta instant form”) in response to one of our advertisements;
  • people who submit a quote request, calculator entry, utility bill, or contact form;
  • people who call, text, email or message us, including via our WhatsApp chat widget;
  • customers and prospective customers of the solar subscription program.

Our services are directed to homeowners located in the State of Florida and are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

Identifiers and contact detailsFull name, home address, service address, email address, telephone number
Property informationWhether you own or rent, approximate age and type of roof, property type, whether solar is already installed
Energy and utility informationYour electric utility provider (for example Duke Energy, FPL or TECO), your monthly and annual electricity usage, your billing amounts, and the contents of any utility bill you choose to upload or send us
Eligibility informationInformation relevant to program qualification, including information used for credit prequalification as described in Section 5

Consent recordsA record of the consents you give us, including the date, time, IP address, the web page or advertisement on which consent was given, and the exact wording you agreed to

A note on utility bills. A utility bill contains your name, service address, utility account number and consumption history. We ask for it only so that we can calculate your potential savings accurately. You are never required to provide it. If you prefer, you can give us your average monthly bill amount instead. We do not need, and ask that you do not send us, your Social Security number, driver’s licence, bank account details or payment card details in connection with a quote request.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit our website we and our service providers may automatically collect: IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, the pages you view, the time and duration of your visit, and interactions such as clicks and form submissions. This is collected using cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies described in Section 7.

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Meta Platforms, Inc. — where you submit a Meta instant form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes us the information you entered together with certain fields pre-filled from your Facebook or Instagram profile;
  • Sunlarus Energy, LLC — program eligibility outcomes, proposal details and installation status;
  • consumer reporting agencies — prequalification results, as described in Section 5;
  • publicly available sources — including property records, county appraiser records and mapping or aerial imagery services used to assess roof suitability.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and prepare a savings analysis or solar proposal for your property;
  • determine whether your home qualifies for the solar subscription program, including verifying homeownership, service area, utility provider, roof condition and prequalification criteria;
  • contact you about your enquiry by telephone, text message, email, or WhatsApp, in accordance with the consent you have given (see Section 4);
  • schedule and conduct consultations, including in-home visits and Zoom meetings;
  • share your information with Sunlarus Energy, LLC and other program partners so your application can be processed (see Section 6);
  • administer, maintain, secure and improve our website and services;
  • measure and improve the performance of our advertising, including understanding which advertisements led to enquiries;
  • keep records of consent, communications and transactions;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

4. Telephone Calls, Text Messages and Email

When you provide your telephone number and check the consent box on our website form or on a Meta instant form, you are giving us permission to contact you at that number about the solar program.

4.1 What you are agreeing to

  • Calls and text messages are placed manually by a member of our team. We do not use an automatic telephone dialling system or artificial or prerecorded voice messages to contact enquiries.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
  • Your consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You can ask for information without agreeing to be contacted by phone or text.
  • We keep a record of your consent — including the date, time, IP address and the exact wording you agreed to — for as long as required to demonstrate compliance.

4.2 How to stop hearing from us

  • Text messages: reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance.
  • Telephone calls: tell the representative you wish to be placed on our internal do-not-call list, or email us using the details in Section 14.
  • Email: click the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us directly.

We maintain an internal do-not-call list and will honour your request promptly, and in any event within ten (10) business days. We also honour the Florida Do Not Call list maintained by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the National Do Not Call Registry.

Please note that even after you opt out of marketing communications, we may still contact you about an active application or an existing agreement.

5. Credit Prequalification

Eligibility for the solar subscription program includes a review of your credit standing. Where you request a quote and give your authorisation, a soft credit inquiry (also called a soft pull) may be performed by us, by Sunlarus Energy, LLC, or by a program partner, in order to prequalify you.

  • A soft inquiry does not affect your credit score and is not visible to other lenders.
  • By requesting a quote you authorise us and our program partners to obtain consumer report information about you for the purpose of determining your eligibility for the program.
  • If, at a later stage, a hard inquiry becomes necessary, you will be told in advance and asked for separate authorisation.
  • If your application is declined in whole or in part on the basis of information contained in a consumer report, you will be given the notice required by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, including the identity of the consumer reporting agency that supplied the report and notice of your right to obtain a free copy of it and to dispute its accuracy.

We do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose consumer report information for marketing purposes.

6. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information in the following circumstances, and no others:

6.1 Sunlarus Energy, LLC

I Want Free Solar System is an authorized distributor of Sunlarus Energy, LLC. To assess your eligibility, generate a proposal, and deliver the program, we share the information you give us — including your contact details, property information and utility usage — with Sunlarus Energy, LLC. Sunlarus Energy, LLC processes that information under its own privacy practices and its applicable agreements. If you do not wish your information to be shared with Sunlarus Energy, LLC, we will not be able to provide you with a quote or proposal.

6.2 Service providers

We use trusted third parties who process information on our behalf and only on our instructions, including: website hosting and maintenance; customer relationship management and marketing automation platforms; email and SMS delivery providers; scheduling and video conferencing tools; analytics providers; and installation, permitting and roofing partners engaged to deliver the program.

6.3 Advertising platforms

As described in Section 7, we share limited information with advertising platforms including Meta Platforms, Inc. to measure advertising performance and to build audiences.

6.4 Legal and business transfers

We may disclose information where required by law, subpoena, court order or lawful request by a public authority; to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; to investigate suspected fraud or threats to the safety of any person; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business, in which case you will be notified of any change in how your information is handled.

6.5 What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your enquiry with a network of competing solar companies or lead buyers. When you contact I Want Free Solar System, your details go to us and to Sunlarus Energy, LLC for the purpose of preparing your quote. They are not resold, syndicated or auctioned to third-party marketers.

Please note that some state privacy laws define “sale” and “sharing” broadly enough to include the transfer of information to advertising platforms through cookies and pixels for targeted advertising purposes. Section 7 explains how to opt out of that activity.

7. Cookies, Pixels and Advertising Technologies

7.1 What we use

  • Essential cookies — required for the website to function, for security, and to remember your preferences.
  • Analytics — to understand how visitors find and use our website so we can improve it.
  • The Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API — we use Meta’s advertising tools to measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram advertising, to understand which advertisements lead to enquiries, and to show relevant advertisements to people who have visited our website or who resemble our existing customers. This may involve sharing certain information with Meta, including hashed identifiers such as your email address or telephone number where you have provided them.

7.2 Your choices

  • Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
  • You can control the advertisements you see from Meta in your Facebook or Instagram Ad Preferences, and you can review and disconnect off-platform activity using Meta’s Off-Facebook Activity tool.
  • You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser transmits one.

8. Lead Forms on Facebook and Instagram

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. Some of our advertisements include a form that you can complete without leaving the app (a “Meta instant form”).

  • Some fields in that form may be pre-filled by Meta from the information already on your Facebook or Instagram profile. You can edit any pre-filled field before submitting, and you can choose not to submit the form at all.
  • When you submit the form, Meta transmits the information you entered to us. From that point it is held by us and handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  • Information you enter on a Meta instant form is used to contact you about the solar program and to assess your eligibility, exactly as described in Sections 3 to 6 above.
  • Meta’s own collection and use of your information is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy, which we do not control.

We do not request Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, health information or insurance information through Meta instant forms.

9. How Long We Keep Your Information

  • Enquiries that do not proceed: retained for up to 24 months from your last interaction with us, so we can recognise you if you return and demonstrate that we handled your enquiry properly.
  • Consent records for calls, texts and email: retained for at least five (5) years from the date consent was given or withdrawn, to evidence compliance with telephone and email marketing laws.
  • Customer records and agreements: retained for the duration of the agreement and for as long afterwards as required by law, tax rules and applicable limitation periods.
  • Do-not-contact requests: retained indefinitely, because we must keep a permanent record in order to continue honouring your request.

When information is no longer needed we delete it or de-identify it.

10. How We Protect Your Information

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. These include encryption of our website in transit (TLS), access controls limiting who within our organisation can view enquiry data, and contractual confidentiality obligations on our service providers.

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, bank details or payment card numbers to us by unencrypted email, text or WhatsApp.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Regardless of where you live, we will honour the following requests in relation to personal information we hold about you:

  • Access — ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you and to provide a copy of it;
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Deletion — ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to information we are required to keep for legal, tax, security or do-not-contact purposes;
  • Opt out of targeted advertising — ask us to stop processing your personal information for targeted advertising purposes;
  • Opt out of marketing — withdraw your consent to calls, texts or emails at any time, as described in Section 4.2.

To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 14. We will verify your identity before acting, normally by confirming information you have already given us. We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need a reasonable extension. There is no charge for making a request. You may use an authorised agent to submit a request on your behalf, provided we can verify their authority.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision in writing within 30 days. We will respond to an appeal within 60 days and, if we decline it, we will tell you how to contact the relevant state authority. Florida residents may contact the Florida Attorney General.

Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others — may have additional rights under those laws, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide you a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right.

12. Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults aged 18 and over who own residential property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website links to third-party sites, including the websites of Duke Energy, Florida Power & Light and TECO Energy so you can download your own utility bill, and to Sunlarus Energy, LLC. We also make a WhatsApp chat widget available. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site or service before providing information to it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes to how we use your personal information, we will provide a more prominent notice. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
